Years 12 & 13A Level Testimonials
CLASS OF 2022
My sixth form was mainly spent giggling at silly physics jokes; wondering if I accidentally broke or burnt a piece of lab equipment; crying over the countless organic mechanisms, and essentially freezing in most math lessons. But most importantly, sixth form was spent learning about the independence to pursue my passion and happiness. May it be taking on a whole A-level subject yourself, learning how to knit, or smashing the patriarchy, time’s a relentless ticking constant that places its chokehold against you as it passes. So always do something fulfilling as it gives – there’s no such thing as being too late or too early to learn anything! And keep in mind that it may be impressive to always be good at something, but to keep going despite failing multiple times is a beautiful thing to experience.

My time as a student in KIS has been one of the most memorable journeys I had in the past 10 years. Over the years I have seen the growing changes that KIS has gone through, seeing the process of new buildings being built and facilities for the community to use. The schooll has given me the opportunity to participate in various events, having different leadership roles, meeting new people from around the world, and understand different cultures. The experience I have gained has allowed me to find my area of interest, the ability to apply newly learned skills which enables me to prepare myself for the future.

After 15 years at KIS, I look back on how I’ve grown as a person; from F1 to Year 13, I’ve been lucky enough to watch our community grow and become a thriving environment, continuously providing students with the ability to learn and develop. Over the years, being surrounded by the vast diversity of cultures has made me more aware, and has given me some of the most invalueble friends and teachers from all over the world. The experiences and leadership roles I’ve had here are immeasureable, and after so many years it hurts me to be leaving, but I have no doubt that KIS has prepared me for anything that comes my way in the future.

This school has small enough classes that everyone knew everyone, but not every class had every student being comfortable with every student. Then there’s my class which had enough clowns that meant every friend circle would overlap a lot. I’ve never seen so much interaction between every single person within a class, and I’m glad that it means that I’m probably going to be keeping in touch with most of them you after we leave.

My time at KIS may be brief but it has been filled with unforgettable moments. I admit that when I first arrived here, I felt abit out of place and lonely. To my surprise, in less than two years I gained wonderful friends and memories that I believe I will cherish for a lifetime. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend these years in any other way. I was, and always will be impressed with the amount and dedication the teachers and staff put in for us to receive the best education and experience. Time has gone by so fast and soon enough we’ll be parting ways and going off to university. I know one day I’ll look back on my time in KIS and miss it.

Throughout my time at KIS, I received an excellent education within a caring and respectful environment. Though that is not to say that it was not without some hardships. I was always challenged and encouraged to achieve my full potential. Needless to say, I believe that I have been equipped with all the tools and experience to become a successful global citizen.

As I stand here on the brink of graduation, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I’ve had at our school. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in a sense of warmth and belonging that made this place feel like a second home. The dedication of our teachers and staff to the well-being and success of each student is unparalleled, and their unwavering support has been a cornerstone of my academic and personal growth.
One of the most remarkable aspects of my time here has been the abundance of opportunities for leadership and personal development. Whether it was through student government, clubs, or community service initiatives, I was consistently encouraged to step up, take charge, and make a difference. These experiences not only bolstered my confidence but also instilled in me a sense of responsibility and empathy that I will carry with me into the future.
Moreover, the vibrant tapestry of activities and events that filled our school calendar fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among students, creating a harmonious community where everyone felt valued and included. From cultural celebrations to sports competitions to charity drives, there was always something happening to bring us together and ignite our school spirit.
As I bid farewell to this chapter of my life, I am filled with gratitude for the countless memories, friendships, and lessons learned. Our school has been more than just a place of learning; it has been a nurturing environment where I have flourished and thrived. I am excited to take the lessons and values instilled in me here and embark on the next stage of my journey with confidence and optimism. Thank you, KIS, for shaping me into the person I am today.

Attending KIS has been an enlightening and unique journey, challenging me to grow personally and academically over four transformative years. My time during online school has only been successful only because of the responsible and meticulous works of the teachers.
During my last two years here, I have taken up the roles of being the Head Prefect and a member of the charity committee, I’ve honed leadership skills and cultivated a deep sense of responsibility and compassion. Organizing events and collaborating with peers has taught me the value of teamwork, empathy, and community impact. My time at KIS has surely prepared me to confidently tackle future challenges with integrity.
In class, learning has extended far beyond ordinary teaching and practice. I have had the opportunity to express myself and to unleash my creativity by accomplishing all the creative tasks with the assistance from my teachers. I have made 3D animation to illustrate DNA transcription for biology, collaborated with my classmates to recreate a news report scene for history, acted out a psychological experiment for the lower years, et cetera. All of these have definitely been greatly entertaining while keeping up my academic excellency.

With confidence, I can say that the last seven years of my student life are owed to this school; the passion of my teachers, the dedication of the staff and the warm environment fostered by all areas of the student body are what all define my experience at KIS.
From the open arms that welcomed me in Year 7 to the thought-provoking and extensive lessons that often reached beyond the classroom throughout Secondary school, this institution has played a vital role in my development as a student and as a person. I can recount fondly the many opportunities that were offered to me that allowed me to truly go beyond academics, which in turn never saw a lack of assistance from the faculty. From achieving my Bronze DoE to working at my position as Student Council Secretary for two years, I can say with certainty that I will continue to cherish the memories made here as I move onto the next chapter of my life.
That being said, I would like to leave offering my utmost gratitude to this institution and all that it has given to me – to my teachers, peers and mentors.

To consolidate my 7 years in just a few lines is practically impossible due to the amount of fond memories I’ve made in this journey. What I can say is that although the people I’ve interacted with and met in KIS are plentiful and temporary, the memories I’ve made are forever engrained. With such an overwhelming positive environment, I was able to demonstrate my leadership in the most fulfilling way possible. KIS and its facilities, opportunities, student population and staff have allowed me to develop and grow as a person. The ground staff and the office clerks deserve some recognition too, as every interaction I’ve had with them from just small talks to assisting them prepare the hall for prom voluntarily made me appreciate their efforts in making the school a more vibrant and sociable space. The teachers here made me realize how sometimes, going beyond for something could benefit you and your peers in unimaginable ways. Their dedication and effort into teaching me and my peers have excelled us. KIS had really pushed my expectations of the ‘conventional’ educational experience to a whole new perspective of what a ‘school’ could be for everyone nationwide. I never really appreciated small class sizes until it actually proved beneficial for me in the long run. They say that it’s never about the destination that matters, but the journey – that could never have been more true, here at KIS.
