HOUSE NEWS 21.11.2020

One of the most exciting things about preparing the Housepoint Awards during this period of remote learning has been the number of occasions when I have listed names for a whole family earning their next Housepoint Award. This week is no exception and I wonder how many more times I will be able to relish in whole families celebrating their success and achievements on the same day! Even more excitingly this week, we also presented the first of our Gold Awards for earning 120 housepoints! What a wonderful achievement and cause for extra celebration!

In our Zoom assembly, we shared names of pupils throughout Primary who earned an award and are so proud of their achievements. I am excited to see what future awards we will be presenting in the weeks to come!

WEEKLY HOUSEPOINT TOTALS

In an excitingly close battle for Housepoint Champions this week, we saw Primary earn an impressive grand total of 822 housepoints. Only 14 points separated the first and third place house so it was certainly a nail biting race! Well done to all students who have earned housepoints for their team this week! I cannot wait to see how close the battle remains in the weeks to come!

This week, the housepoints we awarded to each team was:

In 3rd place, with 268 housepoints is Sapi!

In 2nd place with 271 housepoints is Gaya!

In 1st place with 282 housepoints is Sulug!

Congratulations to Sulug Sharks for the second week in a row! They have not claimed this top spot for 3 weeks only throughout this first term but Sapi and Gaya remain hot on their heels to snatch victory with the slightest slip! These next few weeks promise to keep us on the edge of our seats and I’m already excited to see who is in the lead overall by the end of the first term! 

GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS! GO SULUG SHARKS!!

Sulug sharks were the winners of the Dojo challenges for the second week in a row, narrowly beating both the Sunbears and Pangolins again! Good luck to all who take part in our challenges this week!

This is the last week you can attempt to complete the Monthly Maths Challenge for November. If you’d like to attempt the November challenge, there is a task for Year 1&2, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 to attempt. Good luck maths challengers! All entries for the Monthly Maths Challenge are due by Friday 27th November 2020.

The Fun Weekly Dojo Challenge this week, is a Boggle Challenge. How many new words can you make using the selection of jumbled letters on the challenge page? New words I can make include:

* SAT

* MUST

* CHEAT

How many other words can you make? Can you find the 9 letter word that the letters spell? Good luck word making!
