We have kicked off another half term brilliantly, and the school is buzzing with excitement for the various events, trips, and showcases lined up in the remaining three weeks of the term. The enthusiasm from both students and staff is truly infectious, and I am excited to share some highlights with you.

We started the week with Year 3 embarking on their much-anticipated trip to Jurassic Land. It was a day filled with adventure and learning, and the students returned with fascinating stories and newfound knowledge. Here’s a space for them to share their thoughts:

After a delayed start to our trip on Tuesday, we set course to Jurassic Land in Kiulu.

When we arrived, we were given a safety briefing and information about the park. We began to walk around the site looking at a variety of dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.

Jurassic Land has lots of information detailing about the names, history and diet. The children were very entertained by the animatronic dinosaurs on show.

Once we had learned about each of the dinosaurs and seen their models, we met some real dinosaurs in a show.

After this, the children were able to enjoy a variety of exciting activities, including a fossil hunting dig site, tube slide, chair zip line, trampoline and carousel swing.

All the children had a very enjoyable time playing with the activities and consolidating their learning from this terms topic about dinosaurs.

Although it’s not primary-based, I must celebrate the incredible work that went into our production of Robin Hood on Thursday and Friday. The performance was a testament to the dedication and talent of the many staff members involved, especially Mr. Bryant, who continues to be an inspirational force within our school. The show was a tremendous success, and I’m sure those who attended were as impressed as I was.

Due to the show, we didn’t have our usual celebration assembly this week. However, this provided a valuable opportunity for classes to gather and engage in circle time activities, fostering community and reflection within each group.

Looking ahead, next week promises to be just as exciting. We have the EYFS trip and the Year 2 showcases to look forward to, events that are sure to create lasting memories for our students.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Warm regards,

Mark Beresford
