Saturday 21st January
Dear KIS Community,
A huge thank you to the PTASC, Angus Wong and of course, the Sabah Unicorn Association. The CNY Lion Dance was spectacular this year and enjoyed by students, parents and staff alike. It was lovely to see so many of our community get dressed up for the occasion and make the day feel special. Thank you to the PTASC for arranging the mandarins and thanks also to the parents who have also donated some.
A reminder for parents of primary children, at the end of the school day if your child is playing on the grass playground they must be under your supervision. Children not collected by their parents will now be automatically taken to pass club and you will be billed. Children cannot go with friends or their parents unless the class teacher has been informed by you in writing. Children should not be playing or running around the front and sides of school, even if you are waiting at the benches. We really appreciate your support with this.
Earlier in the week we gave out KIS car stickers to promote safer driving and if you did not receive any or wish to have some more, feel free to pop into the school office to collect them. Remember we are promoting safer driving, please do not use your hand phone while driving and make sure you and your passengers are wearing seatbelts.
Looking to after the holiday, we will see the return of Drop-Off & Drop-In, our parent-centred coffee mornings. The theme of the first one back will be assessments at KIS, what are they and how to understand them. We will send more information when we are back.
Whatever you are doing this holiday we wish you a safe and enjoyable break with family and friends. Happy Chinese New Year of the rabbit.
Gong Xi Fa Cai.
