Saturday 19th November

Dear KIS Community,

A very busy but productive week, including a surprise public holiday, so I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. It is very fortunate that the elections were not held a week later, which means we can hold our AGM as planned, which will be taking place in school on Friday 25th November in the morning after drop-off. We ask you to please attend to help ensure we reach a quorum for the AGM to take place. A letter was sent recently to all parents and guardians explaining the purpose of the Board and the AGM. Each year we do ask for parent volunteers to join the Board of Governors. Please check your emails for more information.

We still have a week before the AGM and this Sunday many of our community will be heading to the beach at Langkah Syabas for a beach clean and maybe a buffet lunch if you feel that way inclined. A great way to help the community and be social at the same time. Whatever you are doing this weekend, spare a thought for our DofE Bronze Award students who are completing their adventurous journeys, and thank you to our dedicated staff for making this possible.

Also in the week prior to the AGM, in fact the day before, on Thursday 24th, we see a return to our physical open days at school. Arranged by Mrs Lisa Ambrose, our Head of Marketing, we have a day of activities, talks and tours for families interested in joining us at KIS. It will be a great showcase of the amazing learning experiences that take place here at KIS. If you know anyone who would be interested for Primary or Secondary, please contact Lisa. Remember if you refer a new family who then join us, you also can claim a referral reward for yourself.

Finally, more whole school community events on the horizon. Next weekend on Sunday you can get involved with Movember at the Hyatt. A joint venture with KIS to raise awareness and money for men’s health issues. Following this, on Saturday 10th December we will be hosting our annual Christmas Fair and look forward to all of you getting involved.

There are many other activities taking place in this final month of the year at school and I just wish to take a moment to thank all of our staff, parents and students for making this all possible. The more you get involved, the more we can do, and the more enjoyable it is for everyone, thank you so much. Do regularly check the calendar, your emails, whatsapp, class dojo etc. for details of all events.

I wish you all a lovely weekend,
