Saturday 12th November

Dear KIS Community,

Congratulations to so many of our students for so many reasons. The very successful FOBISIA U15s, we welcomed back last week. On the same day, UBUNTU held their 5th exhibition at KIS, including a variety of stalls during the day and performances in the evening. At the start of the week Primary continued with their day-trips programme. We had two emergency drills, evacuation and lockdown which were carried out very well. Many of our eco-students presented their projects to a visiting committee for the EcoSchools Award on Wednesday morning. And, we finished the week with a remembrance assembly, a chance to show respect and understand the significance of the poppy for all those who gave their lives during times of conflict.

Next week we will be having four visitors to school, one of whom we hope will become our next Principal for KIS. They will be busy with many meetings and activities to help them get to know our community and for us to learn more about them. Also next week I will be attending the FOBISIA Heads meeting, the first face to face meeting since travel restrictions two and a half years ago and we are looking forward to a productive meeting and helping FOBISIA to develop further for its member schools.

Finally, a reminder that the KIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be taking place in school on Friday 25th November in the morning after drop-off. We ask you to please attend to help ensure we reach a quorum for the AGM to take place. A letter was sent recently to all parents and guardians explaining the purpose of the Board and the AGM. Each year we do ask for parent volunteers to join the Board of Governors. Please check your emails for more information.

I wish you all a lovely weekend,

Ian Gross
