From the Principal 17.12.2022
Saturday 17th December
Dear KIS Community,
This past week has been a whirlwind of events and activities. The very successful KISmas Fair, Carol singing, class parties, carol concerts, school assemblies, House singing, Santa’s deliveries, house competitions, the KIS Cup and so much more. I sincerely thank all our staff, parents and students who have given so much of their time and energy to allow all this to take place. Well done to all. In particular Santa’s helpers (I believe members of our PTA) did a fantastic job in hand baking and decorating hundreds of Christmas cookies for all of our children and staff to enjoy, thank you very much. I can also inform you that the KISmas fair raised RM6,037.20 which will be shared between the Jireh Home and C.H.I.L.D Sabah.
Earlier in the week I had the pleasure of visiting the Cheshire Home to help deliver the wonderful and generous gifts many of you had provided for the Christmas Angels. You can read more about this in our newsletter and again thank you for your donations and kindness for our wider community.
I also need to thank all of our wonderful staff for all their hard work over the past term in making sure that all of our children at KIS are the focus of what we do, challenging them to achieve their full potential by providing an excellent education in a caring and respectful environment. Well done and thank you all.
In staff news, we say goodbye to Mrs Dursia Yusof, our secondary science technician. Ms Yusof is leaving after nearly six years as she relocates to Sarawak to be with her husband as they await the birth of their first child, we wish them all the very best. At the same time we welcome Ms Fong who will be taking over the support in Science as the new technician. We also say thank you and goodbye to Roshween (ex-student) who has been working as an intern in our marketing department. Roshween will be heading off to university in the new year and we wish her well too.
Today is the first day of our holidays, be safe, relax, and enjoy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you on January 9th.
