Saturday 10th December

Dear KIS Community,

Saturday morning, reading the newsletter, wondering what you might do today? Come along to school, today is our KISmas Fair, from 10am to 2pm. Pop in, wonder around, pick up some last minute presents from the many stalls, have a chat with some friends and then off for lunch somewhere nice perhaps? See you later today.

A huge thank you and round of applause for all of the efforts made for book week. Thank you to Ms Colbeck for arranging and well done to everyone who got involved, incredible costumes, cakes, reading, treasure hunting, decorating doors, visiting the book fair, being spies, wearing PJs and so much more. Events like these work well when everyone gets involved. Thank you all for your participation.

Time for a bit of nagging, it has been noticed that more and more parents (and drivers) are driving past school whilst using their mobile phones. I’ll be blunt. If you want to be distracted and crash your car that is your responsibility, if you hit another car or even worse, one of the children, that is your responsibility. As a school we go to a lot of trouble to make sure your children are as safe as possible. We cannot be in your car, and therefore remind you that using your phone whilst driving is dangerous, irresponsible and believe it or not, illegal. Help us to look after all our children, do not use your handphone whilst driving. Thank you.

Next week is the last week of the first term, and for the year, it has come around so quickly. Reports will be going home (by email), Primary will be having their Christmas Singalongs, and final assemblies have been planned. The last day is Friday and students in Primary will finish at 11.30am and in Secondary they will finish at 12pm. Please be on time to pick up your children. As Friday is a short day, the PTA will be selling ice-creams on Thursday so please make sure you are prepared.

Finally, a huge thank you to all of you who were able to get a Christmas Angel, they did disappear very quickly, and bring your Christmas gifts into school. We will be arranging delivery very soon.

I wish you all a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all at the KISmas Fair today from 10am.
