Dear KIS Community,

Well done to our A level students, they have completed a week of mock examinations. The results will be coming back shortly and this is an opportunity for all of them to realise their strengths and weaknesses whilst they still have time to work on their studies before the real AS and A2 examinations start in the third term.

In the secondary school the DofE Silver Awards had a successful adventurous journey, ably supported by Ms McNutt, Mrs Colbeck and Mr Bevan. Ms Corbishley took a group of IGCSE Business Studies students to a coffee factory and the Year 5 team came back on Friday following a very enjoyable week in Kuching with the Year 5 students. Thank you to all of our staff who are keeping the learning experiences varied and interesting. This also includes all the Primary staff on Friday for a very entertaining Math’s Day.

Thank you to everyone who was able to complete the CIS survey over the past couple of weeks. Our aim is to now analyse all responses from Board members, Parents, Staff, Students and Alumni. A report will be produced and results made available in due course. It is so important that we have representation from all areas of our community so we can move forward collectively and we really appreciate your time in completing the survey.

If you have not already seen, an email was sent yesterday to notify you of the postponement of our upcoming Open Day, Swimming Gala and Family Fun Day. With the current climate and continued spread of Covid-19 we will always support the wellbeing of our community. We are in regular contact with Ministries, agencies and other international schools and will update you if we need to alter any other arrangements. We do ask families of students who have examinations coming up to reorganise possible travel arrangements to avoid any disruption to their examinations due to unforeseen travel restrictions or self-isolation.

Next week is the much anticipated Book Week and Ms Colbeck and Mr Fletcher have been working extremely hard to arrange a wonderful variety of events over the course of the week; I am very much looking forward to the costumes on Friday.  Please remember that we have a book fair throughout the week in the MPR where you can purchase books. Children will also have the opportunity to visit the fair with their classes and at break times. The MPR will be open before, during and after school to help with your visits.

I wish you all a lovely weekend and a very enjoyable Pi Day today (3.14),
