From the Principal 13.11.2021
Dear KIS Community,
It has been a long time coming but we are now in Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan. On Monday we will be meeting with the Ministry of Education to hear how we will be having our students return to school the following week. We will then be able to communicate this with you. Our SOPs will be reviewed and published ahead of the return and we ask you to read through with your children.
Thank you to everyone who got involved with our Pink Day last Thursday which was also Remembrance Day which we recognised with a very well attended assembly for KS2 to KS5. Laptops and Lattes took place in the morning and afternoon and we had some lively discussions about the return to school. Ms Colley made a guest appearance in the secondary session and explained about some excellent software to help our children from being distracted during online sessions for learning (more information in the school sections).
Next week we will be hosting our first physical Board meeting in school, which is also the last of this year with the current Board as we continue with making preparations for the KIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) which takes place on 27th November (online). A letter was sent from Dr Pilcher (Chair of the Board) to all parents and guardians explaining the purpose of the Board and the AGM. Each year we do ask for parent volunteers to join the Board of Governors. Please check your emails for more information.
Finally, we welcome Ms Megan Siddall (Year 1) as she arrives in KK this weekend to begin her home quarantine. We look forward to seeing Ms Siddall in school very soon.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
Principal
