Dear KIS Community,

Welcome back to what promises to be a very busy final half term. A huge thank you to everyone involved with the 50th Anniversary Gala event, I have heard so many positive comments of the evening and it truly was a wonderful way to mark this occasion, including having one of the original Board members who helped to create our school, Dr Richard Barrow, setting KIS on the pathway to where we are now. Coming up later this month is the 50th Anniversary Fun Run and more details are available in the PTA section for you to join in.

Recently our canteen provider, Colour Meals, ran a survey to support improvements with the catering at school. Thank you very much to all our parents, staff and students who took part in the survey. Overall the findings were positive and you can read the main points of the canteen survey responses here. Colour Meals appreciate the supportive and constructive comments and will be looking to make changes based on your suggestions.

To support safety at school at the end of the day, can you please take note, Secondary students not in an ECA should be picked up at 3pm. For Primary students, parents or a designated adult, must collect children from the class pickup points at 2pm or from the ECA leader at 3pm. Primary children will not be allowed to leave school by themselves, parents must park and collect. If parents have not arrived within 10 minutes, children will be taken to the PASS club and a charge will be made to parents for this. Thank you for your understanding and helping to keep your children safe.

Welcome home to our Primary Vipers. Our students and staff have had a fantastic week of sporting achievements despite the very changeable weather. I am sure they will all return very tired and proud of their achievements over the past week. A huge thank you to our very attentive and supportive staff, Ms Watt, Mr Shaw, Ms Goldie, and Mrs Shrijver.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of talking with Ms Colbeck, Head of KS5, as she outlined her plans for our first University Fair, hosted at KIS. There will be a number of activities across a few days later in June, aimed at supporting our students (and visiting students) with their university and career choices. KIS continues to support our students to attend their universities of choice, all over the world. Further news and information will be published nearer the time.

For next week we will be having another ‘Drop Off and Drop In’ Coffee Morning on Wednesday 17th, at 8am. The topic will be Artificial Intelligence and its use in School. More information will be sent next week.

Wishing you a lovely weekend,
