From the Principal 03.09.2022
Dear KIS Community,
As we settle into the usual routines of school, students and staff are busy with high quality learning and preparing for the term ahead. It has been said before, but it is refreshing to have all children back in school and being able to take part in the many activities our wonderful staff have been planning for. Development for the year ahead is in full swing. I hope you were all able to enjoy Malaysia Day, and can now look ahead to the next Malaysia Day on September 16th.
Next week, the sign up for ECAs will begin, you can read more about this term’s ECAs in an Admin Update in this newsletter. On Tuesday morning, the PTASC New Friends Team will be warmly welcoming our new families to school for this term. As nice as it has been to have children in school, it will be lovely to welcome our new families at school too. Thank you to our PTASC for arranging the coffee morning to facilitate this.
Next Saturday is the International Coastal Clean-Up Day and Reef Check are looking for volunteers to help clean up the Beaches around Sabah. If you want to get involved please contact cleanup@reefcheck.org.my they are looking for volunteers. A KIS team will be supporting from under the water with a reef clean up sponsored by the Marine Research Foundation (MRF). You can read more this week from the Eco Warriors.
Quick reminder, as part of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) we have updated and published our policies on the school website. Thank you for completing the form, if not, could you please check your email and complete the google form as soon as possible.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
