From the Head of Primary 26.06.2021

As we come to the end of another successful year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support of the school which has enabled us to do our best for the children. I feel very privileged and proud to have had the opportunity to lead the primary school and my job has always been made that much easier by working with such a fantastic team of people. A big thank you to my primary team and especially to Ms Hitchen and Mrs Garrick for their support, laughs and giggles.  I cannot of course leave Mr Gross and Mrs Renshaw out of the thank yous.

As we all know, it has been a very different and at times challenging year but nonetheless it should be celebrated and our children’s achievements recognised. It has been a pleasure to every week present Stars of the Week as well as House Point certificates during our celebration assemblies. We have celebrated and recognised our writers, mathematicians, scientists, eco-warriors and artists to name but a few of the children’s talents.  The children’s excellent attitude, resilience and commitment to learning never fails to impress me and this has to be attributed to the strong parent teacher relationships that we all try so hard to create and maintain. Our children however are more than their academic success. They are polite, kind, respectful and responsible which tells me how much they gain from your support at home and ours at school. Our shared set of values is what makes our school successful and a very special place to be.

For those of you, like me, who are saying good bye to KIS I wish you every happiness and best wishes for the future. Good luck to our fantastic year 6 pupils who are moving onto secondary. I hear that you were quite a hit during your transition days this week!

I am going to end this final newsletter as I started, with a heartfelt thank you to every member of the community who embraced and welcomed me into KIS. I will never forget your kindness and support.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a safe and happy summer holiday.
