Last Day of Term!

Well, we’ve made it to the end of Term 2. It’s not the last day of term that I or anyone else was hoping for but we’ve made it and we can all have a well-deserved rest. I always feel quite emotional on the last day of term. For me, it is a time to reflect on what we have achieved as a community and of course a time to say our goodbyes and wish each other safe travels. The last couple of weeks have been a challenging time for us all but as I reflect, I am grateful for the positive school spirit and humour that has got us all through. This has to be one of my favourite messages from a Year 3 parent;

I’m just trying my best. It’s not an easy task to be a teacher. I salute to all of the teachers!! Thank you so much!! I don’t want to be a teacher anymore I want to resign. I really appreciate what you and all the teachers and TAs are doing. Thank you once again!

We will of course not be wishing each other safe travels; we can’t leave the house. I had planned to fly to Thailand tomorrow to meet my children and grandchildren for the break and that obviously won’t be happening now. Of course I feel very sad but I am also incredibly grateful that we are all safe and well and have been enjoying lots of longer than usual facetime chats with eachother.

Teachers will not be posting on Dojo during the holiday but the homework grids for each year groups will be available and I have already sent a list of useful and entertaining websites for you to have a look at during the break.

Wishing you all a wonderful break and I hope to see you soon.
