Word of the Week! 22.02.2020

Well, the lexicons being built in our English classes are impressive!

This week, Timothy Cheng of 8S has found the word anodyne (which is anything but!). Grace Lee of 8K has been thinking about the meaning of life, and in her metaphysical ponderings, she has realised that it is more than “42”. (Brownie points for those who get the allusion).

Sarah Jong in 7S discovered the word dissident, which is entirely appropriate for the class’ recent studies of dystopias. In 7K, Amiel Suresh has added ostracise, also relevant to characters in anti-Utopian worlds.

Finally, Keith Wong in 9S has unearthed a precept – “The law of nature has one precept: Be Strong”.
