Word of the Week! 21.09.19

Once again, the English Department has been inundated with an exciting array of vocabular offerings this week. We are also pleased to note that the majority of our students are striving to be more ambitious and adventurous in their word choices. This week’s winners are:

In first place, earning five house points for Sapi, is Natalia from 7S with the delightful entry of ‘bumptious’ – Some of the people in our class can be quite bumptious. 

In second place, Timothy from 8s has also earned four house points for Sapi with ‘ intransigent ‘– His intransigent attitude was both admirable and infuriating.

Lastly, Sulug earned three house points from Leya in 9S who came in third place with the little known term ‘slipshod’ – It’s slipshod work that loses sight of what you are trying to achieve.

Well done to our winners and all the students in Key Stage Three who are working hard to enlarge, expand and elevate their lexical range.
