This week we showcase a game from Malaysia .
The PTASC would love all parents to send through examples of games from their home country to pta@kis.edu.my. We will share a new game weekly in the newsletter.
Lompat getah, also called “zero point”, is a traditional jump rope game played by children in Malaysia. The game is played by 3 or more players using a long rope made from rubber bands, hence the name lompat getah or rubber jump.

How to Play Lompat Getah
Two players hold the ends of the rubber band rope standing at least 6 feet apart.
The other players take turns to jump over the rope. If a player fails, he or she takes over holding one end of the rope.
The height of the rope from the ground is increased after each round: on the ground, ankle level, knee level, waist level, shoulder level, top of the head and other variation of play.
Players must jump without touching the rope at ground, ankle, or knee level. After that players are allowed to touch the rope as they jump over.
Play continues until no one can jump over the rope.
