HOUSE NEWS 27.02.2021

Fridays are always a great cause for celebration and this Friday was no exception as we had a chance to award individuals for their ongoing hard work. Their individual achievements were recognised in assembly when we shared the names of those earning their next Housepoint Award. Long may their dedication and hard work continue! 

This week, our congratulations are given to the following pupils throughout Primary.

Which awards will we present next week?

Last week’s first and second places took a complete switch around this week in the Weekly Housepoint battle! And even more excitingly, the difference between their housepoint totals was identical to last week! It’s little twists like these that keep the tension in the overall battle! As the end of the second term slowly approaches, I’m already excited to think about which House is leading the overall battle! It won’t be long until we can find out! 

This week, the housepoints we awarded to each team was:

In 3rd place, with 177 housepoints is Sapi!

In 2nd place with 184 housepoints is Sulug!

In 1st place with 198 housepoints is Gaya!

Congratulations to Gaya Pangolins for earning their 4th win this term!! They have been our strongest team this term with the most wins of any House in Term 2! Keep it up Pangolins! How many more times will we see you wear the crown for the weekly housepoint battle? I can’t wait to find out!

Sulug Sharks are this week’s Fun Dojo Challenge champions by the narrowest of margins! There were lots of great monster drawings shared for the last challenge and I hope that everyone who took part had fun playing the monster draw game! Who will choose to complete the challenges this week and help bring their team to glory?

All entries for the February Maths Challenge have been submitted so there is no Maths Challenge to share for this week. Well done to everyone who took part in the February challenge. Next week, keep a look out for the Maths Challenge for March which will be shared for you to complete from Friday 5th March!

This week’s fun weekly Dojo Challenge is a family challenge where you will need to solve a variety of puzzles known as Dingbats or Rebus Riddles. These special puzzles are solved by working out the common phrase that is presented through a unique display of letters, words colours and pictures. Check out the Google Drive folder for the Rebus Riddles challenge sheet which you will need to see to complete your answers! Good luck to everyone choosing to take on this week’s fun challenge!

Book @ Bedtime…or Anytime stories return this week with Mr. Fletcher sharing the story of The Boy Who Switched off the Sun! It’s a great story about a little boy who loves ice cream so much that he comes up with a clever plan to stop his favourite treat from melting too quickly! Don’t forget to check back through all the School Story posts for all past Book @ Bedtime stories that have been recorded so far!
