HOUSE NEWS 13.03.2021

As we welcomed everyone back to school this week, Primary children didn’t stop earning housepoints to add to their overall totals and earn them their next Housepoint Award. It was wonderful to be able to present all the awards earned over recent weeks throughout Remote Learning and I was super excited to prepare certificates to be presented in school this week! I look forward to seeing more awards we can present in the weeks to come!

Congratulations everyone! Which awards will we present next week?

As we settle back into life in school, the Weekly Housepoint Battle kicks up a gear and this week’s result saw one of the closest battles for the top spot we’ve seen in a while! In an exciting twist to the usual see-saw we’ve seen in recent weeks between the Sharks and Pangolins, the Sapi Sunbears clawed their way to their first victory this term. 

This week, the housepoints we awarded to each team was:

In 3rd place, with 172 housepoints is Gaya!

In 2nd place with 173 housepoints is Sulug!

In 1st place with 175 housepoints is Sapi!

Congratulations to Sapi Sunbears who take a vital win by one of the smallest margins we’ve seen. Keep up the hard work everyone! I can’t wait to find out who we’ll celebrate next week.

Sulug Sharks stormed to a win for the Fun Dojo Challenges with their fabulous vehicles designed to bring them to school each day! Some of my favourite vehicle designs included a jet plane, a fish car, a unicorn bus and a burger car! Well done to everyone taking part in the challenge and for your wonderful creativity! Who will choose to complete the challenges this week and help bring their team to glory?

The Monthly Maths Challenge continues with the March challenge. There is a challenge for Year 1&2, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 to be completed. Choose the challenge for your year group. Good luck Maths Challengers! All entries for the March Maths challenge are due Friday 26th March.

Following on from our Primary Assembly for Pi Day, this week’s Fun Dojo Challenges are all Pi challenges. We have shared a grid of different challenges for you to choose from and complete as many of them as you wish. Have fun creating your own Pi bracelet, Pi dreamcatcher, playing a Pi card game or even baking pies! Housepoints will be earned for every Pi challenge completed and I can’t wait to see all the Pi fun everyone can have!

Book @ Bedtime…or Anytime returns this week with Mr. Watson sharing another story for everyone to enjoy! Last year, he read the beautiful Tale of Peter Rabbit and now is back to read The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, another fantastic Beatrix Potter story. We hope you all enjoy it! Don’t forget to check back through all the School Story posts for all past Book @ Bedtime stories that have been recorded so far!
