HOUSEPOINT TOTALS
With only a couple of weeks to go before we find out the overall totals for Term 1 in the housepoint battle, every weekly battle takes on more and more significance! Yet again, we had another extremely close fight for the top spot this week and the winning House clinched victory with a 2 point lead! Each of these small victories makes the overall battle even closer and I’m already on the edge of my seat waiting for the results!
This week, the Primary students collectively earned an impressive 944 housepoints. I’m hoping for an extra push next week to see if we can break the 1000 point barrier again before the Christmas break! Congratulations to everyone earning housepoints this week!
The housepoints awarded to each team was:
In 3rd place, with 312 housepoints is Sapi!
In 2nd place with 315 housepoints is Sulug!
In 1st place with 317 housepoints is Gaya!
Our congratulations go to the Gaya Pangolins who have gained another first-place victory!! Who will we be celebrating next week?
GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS!! GO SULUG SHARKS!!!
DOJO CHALLENGE
Primary ‘grew’ to the fun challenge this week and all showed some amazing facial hair as they showed off their impressive moustaches. A random selection of Primary students featured in the final Movember video. Make sure you check it out, as the morphing staff changes are something to behold! Well done to everyone who took part in this fun challenge and helped to bring attention to Movember.
In assembly, we revealed the amazing winners from our recent Young Attenborough photo competition. The judges had a hard time choosing between the many entries and told me it was particularly difficult because of the high quality of all entries. Great job Primary students on yet another challenge! Make sure you check out the School Story on Dojo where I shared the winning photos and results!
Our Monthly Maths Challenge returns for December and there are a variety of Christmas themed Maths Mysteries for each year group to solve. Choose the Maths Mystery for your year group from the Drive folder and be the detective to solve the case! Good luck! All entries are due by Friday 17th December 2021.
This week’s Fun Challenge is The Circle Challenge. Who has ever sat and stared at the clouds outside their window, making pictures from the shapes they see? For our challenge, you will need to imagine the real life objects you can create from a blank circle. There is a circle template in the Google Drive. Print the templates and turn the circles into as many real life objects that you can think of! Ideas were shared in pictures on Class Dojo!
Please share photos of your completed challenges through this Google Form link:

Ms. Lisa in our Marketing Department will use some of the wonderful challenge submissions each week to celebrate and share your wonderful work through videos created for KIS social media sites. Please use the link above, complete the required information in the Google Form and upload your photos.
If you missed the challenges when they were shared on Dojo on Friday, please check out School Story on Dojo to find the link to the Weekly Dojo Challenge folder.
You can also use this link https://cutt.ly/LfcFEyn to access the folder and find the details for all the challenges shared this week. If you have any questions, please do get in touch via email; sbarlass@kis.edu.my or through Class Dojo messages.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible participating with these weekly challenges, but please do remember that all challenges are optional. All entries for all challenges will be awarded with housepoints towards their House Team total, because “Team work makes the dream work!”
Happy challenging KIS!
SECONDARY HOUSE NEWS
SULUG continue to lead the way in the Secondary Merit point totals this week. SAPI continue to press in second place whilst GAYA languish a little in third:-
Students are able to “live” check their MErit totals through the House Google Site using their KIS domain login.
However, I thought this week parents may be interested to see how these scores “stack up”:-

The overall scores include results from Weekly House competitions and one-off events such as the KS3 FOBISIA Challenge and the situation is very different here:-

Parents can view the KIS House GSite through the following link which can only be accessed using a KIS domain email account (ask your child to show you):-
