HOUSE NEWS 03.10.2020
This week saw us present the first of our Housepoint Awards for individuals who have earned 40 housepoints so far this year. It was wonderful to see our Year 5 students presented with this award as they have been working incredibly hard to show they can demonstrate the attributes of a KIS student, since the beginning of the year. What wonderful role models they are for students throughout KIS!
Congratulations to all the children appearing on our honour roll this week. We look forward to awarding more certificates in the coming weeks!
WEEKLY HOUSEPOINT TOTALS
Primary students continue to impress with their hard work and dedication to their learning. As a result of their amazing attitudes, we have awarded a massive 945 housepoints throughout Primary this week. This is by far our biggest total so far this term and makes me wonder if we can break the 1000 barrier next week?! I’m looking forward to seeing the battle continue…who will earn more housepoints for their team?
This week, the housepoints we awarded to each team was:
In 3rd place, with 293 housepoints is Sapi!
In 2nd place with 312 housepoints is Gaya!
In 1st place with 340 housepoints is Sulug!
Our congratulations go to Sulug Sharks who take the crown for a second week in a row, making it 4 wins in total! Who will we be celebrating next week?
GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS! GO SULUG SHARKS!!
HOUSE DOJO CHALLENGES
Gaya Pangolins have yet again shown their dominance in the House Dojo Challenges this week as they take the crown for a fourth week in a row! Will any House be able to beat them as we present another week of fun challenges? Good luck to all who take part!
The Monthly Maths Challenge returns for October this week. If you’d like to attempt the October challenge, there is a task for Year 1&2, Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 to attempt. Good luck maths challengers! All entries for the Monthly Maths Challenge are due by Friday 30th October 2020.
The Fun Weekly Dojo Challenge is another House Treasure Hunt. This time we challenge you to find as many objects as you can that start with every letter in your House name. If I was hunting for Gaya, I would need to hunt for objects that start with G and A and Y as they are the letters in the House name. You can hunt anywhere you are this weekend! Good luck hunters…I’m looking forward to seeing what you can find!
To share any of the challenges you complete, please upload your photos to your child’s individual Dojo portfolios. You can also drop a printed photo into the challenge boxes placed by the Class Dojo board at the front of the school.
We have another wonderful story shared with you for Book @ Bedtime…or Anytime! This week, Mr. Fletcher reads us the story of “The Big Ugly Monster and the Little Stone Rabbit.” We hope you enjoy it!
If you missed the challenges when they were shared on Dojo on Friday, please check out School Story on Dojo to find the link to the Weekly Dojo Challenge folder. You can also use this link https://cutt.ly/LfcFEyn to access the folder and find the details for all the challenges shared this week. If you have any questions, please do get in touch via email; sbarlass@kis.edu.my or through Class Dojo messages.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible participating with these weekly challenges, but please do remember that all challenges are optional. All entries for all challenges will be awarded with housepoints towards their House Team total, because “Team work makes the dream work!”
Happy challenging KIS!
