Kaamatan Celebration

We finally were able to celebrate a whole school and community event this year: Kaamatan. The school was lively decorated and the ambience was enhanced by the traditional dresses and colours worn by students, parents and staff. The children were happy to watch the traditional dances but mostly to participate trying to jump the bamboo trunks at the rhythm of the Magunatip; and we could see some teachers enjoying it as well! Big shout out to the students who used the blowpipe accurately bursting all the balloons.
We hope this marks the return to our celebrations at the school’s grounds.

Staff Appreciation Day

After 2 years, the Staff Appreciation Day is back on the 9th of June. We gently remind you of the intention of decorating the school with messages to our hardworking teachers and staff. Here is the file for the bunting that we are asking parents / students to print and fill in and return to the school by the 7th June.

Most importantly, we kindly request volunteers to supervise the students during their lunch break. 12 supervisors are needed from 11.20 am to 12.20 pm (EYFS & Primary), and 3 supervisors are needed from 12.20 to 1.00 pm (Secondary). Anyone interested or wanting more information, please drop us a line at pta@kis.edu.my.

Thanks in advance for your support! Closer to the date we will be requesting parents to volunteer for playground duties on the day to ensure the children are properly supervised whilst the staff enjoy their lunch.

PTA Leadership

Thanks to all the members who attended the PTA AGM 2022! We surpassed the quorum by a good number and wrapped up the meeting within half an hour (that’s a record!). We’re especially grateful to the parents who have volunteered to be part of the new Steering Committee. We wish them the best of lucks! The full list of the PTASC 2022-2023 be disclosed in the coming newsletters.

Finally, the PTASC 2021-2022 would like to thank all the members community for their kind understanding through another COVID-dominated year. Especially for always supporting and contributing towards the events organised this year.

None of it would have happened without you!
