Deepavali:
As mentioned last week, Deepavali, the Festival of Lights, is nearly upon us and will be celebrated at KIS after the half term holiday on Wednesday 30th October.  This year the PTASC and Eco Warriors have teamed up to create an awareness of Upcycling in order to combat E-Waste.  A campaign has been on-going this month to Upcycle unwanted CDs into ‘Diyas’.
We would like to thank everyone who has already handed in their beautifully decorated CDs.  The CDs will be used as Deepavali decorations.  We are aiming for 500 discs to be on display as a KIS record bid and the school will certainly look stunning when we have decorated it! If you have yet to complete a disc or two, the deadline is Tuesday morning, 8am 29th October, after the half term break. Look out for our collection box!  We would like to encourage everyone to participate in this event.
On Wednesday 30th October, the PTASC will host a Deepavali Coffee Morning for parents, complete with Indian sweets and savoury snacks at 8am in the MPR.  Please do join us as we officiate the “Largest Display of Upcycled CDs into Diyas”.  In conjunction with this auspicious occasion, the PTASC will distribute free ice-cream to all students and staff at pick-up between 2-4pm.

Secondary Sports Day:

Will be held on Friday 1st November at Penampang sports complex.

This year the PTASC will be selling cold drinks and a limited number of light snacks.  We look forward to seeing you there.

We wish you a lovely weekend and half term holiday.
