Storysacks

A ‘Story sack’ consists of a story book inside a sack.  Parents make props and characters from esch story book for primary students to develop their imagination, drama skills, and also to increase confidence In retelling a familiar story with their friends.

This wonderful team have previously made beanbags for both primary and secondary libraries and covers for secondary science equipment. They are currently busy working on floor cushions for foundation 2 to enjoy as well as some minor repair work on some story sack characters. It is so encouraging to see the parents making such fabulous items for the students to gain great benefit from.

Some of these parents are learning as they go; learning new skills such as how to use a sewing machine and even how to thread a needle! The story sack team meet in the MPR every Wednesday morning from 8-10am.

Tea, coffee and cakes are always on offer and it is a fantastic opportunity to discover a new skill/craft and to make new friends within the community. All are welcome to join. Please contact Liz Wu if you require any more information.
