Dear KIS Community,

The production of Olivia by our Year 6 and Year 5 students has really shown us the talents of our older Primary students. Watching the performances I was so impressed by their confidence and natural ability to enjoy themselves whilst performing. Well done to all of our actors and actresses and thank you for your hard work. The same must be said for all the staff involved in preparing and supporting the evenings this past week.

We have some very imaginative and creative students as well as those with a flair for business. Thank you to everyone involved in Enterprise this week and also the Summer Fair. I was overwhelmed by the energy of the events and the students’ participation and creativity in both Primary and Secondary. Thank you to all our parents who were able to come along and support us yesterday afternoon. Well done to all. Special thanks to Mrs Rose for overseeing and organising the Summer Fair this year and to Ms Corbishley for the Secondary Enterprise on Thursday afternoon.

Congratulations are also in order for two of our students, well done to Debbie Wong in Year 7, who I learnt earlier this week, had entered into the KGL Global English Contest and came third overall in Malaysia having previously won a place to represent Sabah in the National round. I know Debbie is happy to have done so well and we are equally proud of her achievements.  We are also proud of Timothy Lei, in Year 9, who emerged champion at the Malaysian Junior Premium Elite Golf Circuit 2019 at Melaka Afamosa Golf And Country Club becoming the Malaysian junior champion. Timothy also just won the Singapore Junior Golf Championship this week. Well done. Please do let us know of your children’s endeavours and successes outside of school, we are proud of their achievements in and out of school.

Is there really only one more week to go? This year seems to have gone by so fast. Still to come though, the annual Swim Gala and KIS has Talent. Your children will receive their reports in Primary on Monday and in Secondary on Friday. Please remember that school will finish at 11.30am on Friday 5th July.

I wish you all an enjoyable weekend,

Ian Gross
