From the Principal 05.10.2019
Dear KIS Community,
A huge thank you and congratulations to our PTASC for organising such a wonderful International Day this year. Our thanks to everyone who was able to come along and participate. The time and effort that went into costumes for children, staff and adults was a joy to see. The stalls. What can I say, fantastic; it really was a pleasure walking around the hall and seeing / smelling all of the incredible foods that had been prepared. Thank you all so very much. Well done to our student council, prefects and MCs for their hard work supporting throughout the day. Our KIS community spirit came shining through.
The Deaf Society School, our neighbour, will be holding a carnival on its grounds this Sunday, 6th October 8am to 3pm, if you have the time please pop along. On Saturday the 12th, St Francis Primary School is hosting their Annual Family Day and parking along our road may be difficult. The following week we will be celebrating Think Pink on Monday 14th. We invite all of our community to wear pink in some way on this day to help raise awareness for breast cancer; donations will be happily accepted and given to appropriate organisations.
Deepavali is around the corner and to celebrate we are collecting old CDs to be able to decorate them and hang in the school as recycled decorations. As the half term holiday begins we are hosting a Walk for Freedom on the morning of Saturday 19th October and a letter with more details will be sent early next week.
Finally, if you are using the SchoolsBuddy app on android, you will need to re-install the app from Google Play to refresh and update.
I wish you all a lovely weekend and a happy birthday to the Governor of Sabah today.
