Dear KIS Community,

If you are reading this before 9.30am (check your clock) please remember to join us for the KIS AGM at 9.30am through Zoom. Click to your WhatsApp school feed for the link and join us live. If you are reading this after 10.30am then I hope I can say thank you for joining us in the AGM, it was great to see you.

The AGM comes at a great time. We have just had a full week back in school with all year groups having face to face lessons. It has been wonderful to see your children smiling and happy to see their friends and teachers; being back at school, enjoying learning in their classrooms. We know a few of our students are still outside of Malaysia waiting patiently to come back and we look forward to when they can join us here at school. In the meantime they have been joining in with their lessons and seeing their classmates.

Everyone is getting used to the rhythm of the school day (and the stairs). Students and staff have been reminded of our SOPs which are there for everyone’s safety and wellbeing. Drop off and pick up are going smoothly as our new routines are used more often. If you have any comments please do drop me an email. Our SOPs are always available (in English, BM, Korean and Mandarin) at www.kis.edu.my/postmcosafety/ . Earlier this week, we had an unexpected visit from the MoE to inspect the school in action. They were very happy and wish to return with the Director of Education to showcase an exemplary school. Thank you to everyone for making this possible.

In other news, last weekend, many of our older students took part in a three day adventurous journey as they practice for their Gold Award later in the year. My thanks to all involved for making this an enjoyable, safe and memorable trip. Also with other news and in case you missed reading in the secondary section last week. Miky in Year 9 (Tian Jiao Kang) came first in a recent FOBISIA science competition. Miky beat nearly 3000 students from 28 schools across Asia. A terrific achievement, well done, we are very proud of you.

Please remember to check your WhatsApp school messages and join us for the KIS AGM at 9.30am

Have a lovely weekend,

Ian Gross
