From the Principal, 19.01.19
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Hello from a very chilly UK. I was pleased to see the MUN students arrive safely in Shanghai and look forward to hearing of their adventures and experiences. The Model United Nations is an excellent platform for students to gain understanding of internationalism and practice skills of critically analysing information and public speaking. It is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded students and forge new friendships.
Year 7s were also on a trip this week, not quite as far as China, but in Seppanggar visiting HMS Argyll, and I thank the Royal Navy for extending an invitation to KIS. Our ECA’s got off to a good start this week and our Year 11 students have been working hard on their mock examinations and I wish them all the very best for their results. The mocks are a superb opportunity to see which areas they need to work on and improve before their official exams at the end of the year.
Next week we will be welcoming a group of Teaching Assistants from a number of different FOBISIA schools as we host a Primary TA JAWS (Job a-like Workshop). Mrs Russell, along with our own Teaching and Learning Assistants (TLAs), will be leading various workshops to support and develop the important work TAs and TLAs do within their classrooms.
Finally, if you are available, we have another Drop-Off & Drop-In Coffee Morning next Wednesday, we have guests from the Ministry of Education visiting to discuss issues such as HFMD. There will be an opportunity for you to have a question and answer session with members of the school’s leadership team.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Gross
