Saturday 17th September

Dear KIS Community,

A short week, but a busy one none the less, with student assessments, preparing for ECAs, school trips and lots of rain. We hope you had an enjoyable Malaysia Day yesterday.

Preparations are underway for our International Day taking place in about a month from now. Start thinking of what you and your children will be wearing to represent your nation. This will be the first physical International Day since 2019 and we are looking forward to the occasion. The PTASC are busy getting ready for the food stalls in the afternoon and the ever-popular parade will take place in the morning, where everyone is welcome.

As more activities return to our calendar we will make sure to keep you informed. One of these is an old favourite, the Story Sacks. A dedicated group where parents gather weekly to produce all the elements in a book through arts and crafts. Parents will knit, sew and stitch the characters. The sacks are then used by teachers during the telling of the story to the children. Sometimes other material needs can be created, such as cushions and microscope covers. If you are interested to join, please contact pta@kis.edu.my.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend,

Ian Gross
