From the Principal 14.12.2019
Dear KIS Community,
A huge thank you to everyone who was able to come and enjoy the Christmas Fair last weekend. It was a great occasion and my thanks to Ann Chin (and her team) for her hard work in making it happen. I also wish to thank all the Primary staff for a very festive Primary sing-along on Tuesday, all that was missing was some snowy weather to add to the festivity. The decorations from the PTA were lovely and we really appreciated their efforts. A very enjoyable evening. Also, very well done to the Primary for an amazing enterprise week with some wonderful ideas becoming a reality with the grand finale on Thursday. Well done to Mr Fletcher who has been behind these Primary events. Secondary held another very enjoyable celebration assembly and it is inspiring to see our older students getting so involved in their school life.
In staffing news, at the end of this term we say goodbye and congratulations to Elfey who has passed her teaching practice in the Early Years for her teaching degree. Thank you and good luck to Nishita one of our ex-students who had been helping in Marketing until going off to University. We have three new staff who will be joining us for the rest of this academic year from January; Mr James Bevan will be picking up Maths classes from Mr Lim, who we thank for stepping in to this role from last August. We welcome Mr Robert Graham, teacher of English who will be replacing Mr Brian Reid and we also welcome Mr Sam Murison into the secondary Arts Department as the new TLA.
A reminder that from January we look forward to seeing students wearing items with the new school logo (except for hats), the time has come to retire the old logo. If you don’t wish to purchase items with the new logo yet we have available logo patches that can be sewn over or to swap the old logo and these can be purchased in the school shop.
I’ll finish with a thank you to all of our staff who have made this past term such a fantastic learning environment for all of our children. I wish you all a lovely Christmas and wonderful New Year wherever you may be. I look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 6th January.
