From the Principal 09.10.2021
Dear KIS Community,
The school has felt more familiar this week with the return of our examination groups and also our littlest members in Early Years. Familiar sights and sounds have started around the school and it has been a real boost for everyone. Thank you to all the staff and students for starting us back on the road to normality. We still have a way to go, and many students this week have been getting their second vaccinations and helping Sabah to move towards Phase 3 of the NRP.
Next week we head towards our half term break and it will be an opportunity for our students to unwind and get off of their devices and have some quality family time. Students start their break a little earlier than the staff. Staff will be having a development day on Friday 15th and will be busy supporting each other in professional development sessions as well as a focus on mindfulness and wellbeing just before they head off on a well-deserved break away from their devices too.
Just before we head into the half term we have another Laptops & Latte arranged for Thursday 14th. The secondary session will be a little later at 9am so that we can accommodate the Secondary Leadership Assembly. Primary Laptops & latte will be as usual at 2.15pm, zoom links will be sent next week (for the leadership assembly as well).
For staff news this week, we send our heartfelt congratulations to Ms Siti (our Counsellor) who became Mrs Siti as she got married yesterday. Best wishes from all of us at KIS.
Have a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
Principal
