From the Principal 01.10.2022
Saturday 1st October
Dear KIS Community,
I very much enjoy walking around the school and seeing the incredible learning taking place across all ages. Invitations to pop into the classroom are always a pleasure and see the engagement and enjoyment students and staff have. Assemblies are another opportunity for students to shine and I was particularly impressed with the confidence and public speaking shown by our secondary students in their leadership assembly. It is so important for our young learners to have these opportunities to shine.
Next week we are supporting mental health and wellbeing as we launch our inaugural KIS Care Week. There are a variety of activities taking place to promote wellbeing. Parents can also get involved on Wednesday morning as the Drop Off & Drop In Coffee Mornings return, starting with Wellbeing Wednesday. As part of our KIS Care Week, we invite you to join us for a lively discussion about your child’s wellbeing and how we can work together to support them. See you in the MPR at 7.45am on Wednesday 5th October.
The following week the highly anticipated International Day returns on Friday 14th. It will be wonderful to see staff, students and parents dressing for the occasion and representing the many nations that make up our community. Don’t forget to get your vouchers to be able to eat your way around the globe. The silent auction for the hampers returns and of course our student councils will be providing fun games for the afternoon. Check your emails for letters from the PTA for further details and how you can get involved.
I wish you a lovely weekend,
Ian Gross
