Tuesday is Monday!

As we know, this coming Monday, the 16th, is a public holiday, the third in a row. This means that students have missed those Monday lessons. To mitigate this, students will follow Monday’s timetable next Tuesday 17th, so please make sure that they bring in all that they need for Monday’s timetabled lessons.

Tuesday is also the first day for ECAs and that will carry on as normal, with Tuesday’s ECAs.

International Day 3rd October

International Day 2018

The tension is mounting over International Day on October 3rd, always a busy and exciting time in school. In the newsletter you can read about the arrangements that our wonderfully supportive PTA are making for the event. It would be great to see all Secondary students in national dress, or wearing clothing that represents their country. Teachers are already talking about what they will wear and we will look to see whether anybody can beat Mr Kelly’s entirely authentic Big Ben outfit of last year!

Please encourage our students to start thinking and planning so that they can “wow” us with their costumes this year!

Interim Reports

In term 1, in addition to the end of term report which all students receive, we put together what we call ‘interim’ reports for all new students. This includes all our Year 7 students so that parents and children can see how they are settling in from their teachers’ point of view. After approximately six weeks we will have a reasonable idea as to how students are coping. Occasionally issues do emerge before this and we are always happy to meet with parents, if there are any concerns, at any time. At the moment I can say that our year 7 students are adjusting well and seem to be enjoying the opportunity to demonstrate their independence at school.

Winning Smiles from Koenraad and Aru Dols!

Last weekend Koenraad and Aru Dols, from our Year 12 group, participated in the ‘Boulder Buster 2019’ wall climbing competition held at Suria Sabah and blew the competition away!

After the challenging elimination rounds, Koenraad came in 1st and Aru 3rd in their age group in the final.

Well done boys!
