From the Head of Primary 28.08.2021

Well what a busy week it has been in primary! The students have fully settled into their routines and from Year 2 upwards are successfully using Google Classroom. Between the live lessons and setting assignments in Google Classroom, we are better able to replicate what happens in the classroom without physically being here.

The last week has been full of communication with curriculum information statements and medium term plans sent home for your information, as well as our online curriculum information presentations that have been happening all week. I hope these gave you an insight into our curriculum at KIS. We strongly believe that when parents and teachers regularly share information about a child and what is happening in the classroom, it supports the learning process from all sides, setting up students for success.

If you have any follow up questions, please contact me at khitchen@kis.edu.my

There will be an opportunity for you to meet with your class teacher again during the week beginning 20th September for 1:1 pastoral settling in meetings. More details to follow. Please do continue to stay in touch with your class teacher throughout the year as strong home school links are extremely important.

This week during our weekly Friday assembly, it was lovely to feel the celebration vibe again as birthdays were celebrated, shout outs were given and house points announced.

We heard from the Year 6 prospective House Captains who did a great job of presenting to the rest of the school.

The House Captain Candidates are:

Gaya: Janesse and Lucy

Sapi: Janice and Princexx and Fion

Sulug: Ada, Eshaana, Oli and Helena

They spoke with passion and eloquence as to why they should be nominated and were confident in their delivery. Next week we will hear from the Year 2 candidates. It will be a tough job for the primary students to decide who their new House Captains will be. I look forward to finding out very soon!

Finally, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new students and their families who recently joined us in primary:

Samuel LAI (Y4K)

DaHyeon Yu (Y4K

ChaeEun Yu (Y6K)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a Happy Independence Day for Tuesday!
