From the Head of Primary 27.05.2023
It has been a lovely week in primary. One of the highlights was definitely the Early Years Superhero Sports Day. The students had 6 missions to complete and through hard work and sheer determination, they saved the day, as all superheroes should! It was a wonderful morning filled with lots of fun and I would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Watson for organising and Miss Watt and the Early Years Team for supporting this fabulous experience.
Another highlight was the Y4 assembly and showcase.
YEAR 4 ASSEMBLY SHOWCASE
Year 4 have been hard at work preparing for their final showcase and presentation this week! They have become set designers, prop creators, costume makers and performers as well as our normal everyday Year 4 students!
The children have worked hard to support and help in all areas of the preparations for our showcase and presentation, exploring their artistic sides as well as more academic activities throughout the week. Rehearsals for our story performance has been a main focus but we got a chance to give our brains a workout too, re-solving some of our favourite maths investigations which we shared with you at the showcase.

We hope you enjoyed our final showcase in Year 4 as much as we enjoyed preparing for it and presenting it to you!
The Year 4 Team
YEAR 1
Y1 were very busy this week making Gingerbread Men as part of their topic on Traditional Tales. Earlier on in the week, they had been busy acting out and retelling the story of The Gingerbread Man in their own words.
DIGITAL RESILIENCE
This week, in our assembly, we continued with the theme of digital resilience. The students made an online pledge.
Our KIS Online Pledge:
- We check age restrictions on websites we visit.
- We keep personal information private.
- We respect others’ privacy online.
- We take a break from screens and enjoy other activities.
- We use kind words in all online communication.
- We speak to a trusted adult about anything online that upsets us.
- We think carefully before sharing or forwarding anything online.
- We use the Internet to help us learn and play.
You can help by ensuring your child follows this at home as well.
Check out our Stars of the Week and our Bronze, Silver, Gold and Headteacher’s House Point Certificate winners!

Next week, on Monday, we will be celebrating Kaamatan. Students are welcome to come dressed in traditional clothing on this day. Then with two public holidays midweek, we will be back on Thursday with a trip for Y2 and on Friday, Y3 will be holding their showcase of learning. Please check year group Class Dojo pages for more information.

Finally I would like to extend a very warm welcome to a number of new students and their families who joined us this week:
Qiqi in F1
Joohyuk in F2
Joobeen and Jooyoun in Y4
I will see you all at the Fun Run early Sunday morning.
Have a wonderful weekend
Take care.
