From the Head of Primary 27.02.2021

It has been lovely to welcome the Early Years children back into school this week and hear their excited voices as they quickly settle back into life at school.

The children (and staff) have really missed the social interaction and we can’t wait to welcome the rest of primary back on 8th March. During assembly on Friday we experimented with allocating over 100 participants into smaller breakout rooms so that younger students could interact with older students and share their plans for the weekend. What could have potentially proved to be a technical catastrophe turned out to be a lovely experience for us all as children and staff were able to chat with members of the school community who they might not usually come into contact with during the school week.

As we prepare to return to school in our year group ‘bubbles’, breakout rooms are something that we will continue with in order to facilitate that much needed social interaction that we have all missed so much. In accordance with our SOP, we are unfortunately unable to welcome parents and guardians back into school just yet and so I would like to set up regular online coffee mornings that we can all contribute to and take part in. The first coffee morning will take place on Wednesday 10th March at 9am and amongst other things we can talk about Digital Parenting. Everyone is welcome to join and I will share a Zoom link on Dojo nearer the time.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
