From the Head of Primary 23.03.2024
As we approach the end of Term 2, it’s time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had together as a school community. The past few months have been filled with unforgettable moments of learning, growth, and camaraderie. We are immensely proud of the outstanding achievements of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of our school community.
Throughout this term, our students have had the opportunity to embark on enriching trips, showcase their talents, and participate in a variety of events that contribute to the vibrant KIS learning experience. From educational excursions to captivating showcases, each experience has played a crucial role in shaping our students’ holistic development. This week, our school buzzed with excitement during the ever-popular House Mornings. Students engaged in a myriad of thrilling games and activities, fostering teamwork, creativity, and sportsmanship. It was heartwarming to witness the joy and enthusiasm radiating from every corner of our school.
Moreover, we had the pleasure of hosting a special Celebration Assembly to honor the remarkable achievements of our students throughout the week and across the term. It was truly inspiring to see their hard work, dedication, and talent being recognized and celebrated by their peers and teachers alike.
In addition to these events, our Year 3 students embarked on a memorable residential trip, where they created lasting memories and learned invaluable life skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Recently, our Year 3 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Outward Bound Sabah, where they immersed themselves in a series of exhilarating outdoor activities. From team building to rock climbing, ziplining, bush cooking with fire, and beach cleaning, the trip was packed with adventures designed to challenge, inspire, and educate.

Team-building exercises kicked off the experience, fostering communication and cooperation among the students. They conquered towering rock faces, soared on ziplines, and learned the art of bush cooking over open flames. The students participated in a beach cleaning initiative, contributing to the preservation of Sabah’s natural beauty.
Through these experiences, the Year 3 students not only developed essential skills like teamwork and resilience but also gained a deeper appreciation for nature and the importance of environmental conservation.
Furthermore, our Year 4 and 5 students embarked on an exciting journey to Rasa Ria, immersing themselves in nature and engaging in adventurous activities that fostered personal growth, resilience, and friendship.
As we bid farewell for the term, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all parents for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education journey. We hope that the upcoming break brings you joy, relaxation, and cherished moments with your loved ones. Whether you’re celebrating Easter, observing Ramadan or enjoying a well-deserved holiday, we wish you a rejuvenating time ahead.
We look forward to welcoming all our students back to school on April 8th, refreshed and ready for another term filled with learning, discovery, and success.
Warm regards,
Mark Beresford
