From the Head of Primary 19.03.2022

What a fabulous week which began with our Marvellous Maths Day! 

One student left school asking “Can we have Maths Day every day?” 

That sounds like a successful day to me.

 There was a whole range of activities from 3D shape work, programming Beebots, shape art, tangrams, perspective art, circle art, building shapes using YouCubed, a mathematical escape room and Sudoku! 

A huge thank you to all the students and staff who made this day so great.

A huge thank you to Year 3 who not only kick-started our return to school trips but also held the school’s first class assembly in two years and what a fabulous assembly it was!

Their assembly celebrated their learning in this term’s topic of ‘How to Stay Healthy’ and also taught the audience a thing or two about weird and wonderful practices around the world in the past. They worked incredibly hard learning lines and making props for their assembly. They practised using intonation and expression so the ‘hilarious jokes’ in the script were delivered to the audience with perfection! 

The week ended on Friday with the Primary Student Council holding a Bake Sale to raise money for Ukrainian refugees. This was very successful so a huge thank you to the student council, the PTA and all of you who donated and bought cakes.  

Don’t forget about Book Week in the final week of this term (28th March – 1st April).
