From the Head of Primary 18.06.2022
Earlier this week, I sent out a letter regarding the end of year and transition arrangements for this term. They key events happening next week that you need to be aware of are:
Year 6 Transition
Year 6 students will be completing their transition to secondary during the week of 22nd June. This will consist of three transition days and the students will be expected to run to secondary hours, 07:45am – 3:00pm during these days. There will be a meeting for parents on the 22nd June. A separate letter with more detail has been sent out by Mrs Renshaw, if you have not received it, please speak to Mr Beresford.
F2-Year 1 Transition Meeting
This will take place on Tuesday 21st June. Mrs Garrick, Miss Siddall and I will meet with the current F2 parents at 8am in the MPR.
Transition afternoon for Primary
On Wednesday 22nd June, primary students will have the opportunity to meet their new class teacher and teaching and learning assistant and find out what next year has in store for them. Children will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the next academic year.
Class Lists
The class lists for the academic year 2022/2023 will be sent home on Wednesday 22nd June.
Please remember if your child has any concerns about the move to the next year group/key stage then encourage them to speak to their class teacher and/or help them to prepare a list of questions for their transition sessions.
Year 6 Assembly
On Wednesday, Year 6 performed their first assembly in over two years and their last in Primary. It was quite an emotional one and I saw a few tears among the parents. It began with a journey through time of their Years in Y3, Y4 and Y5 and then detailed many of the interesting things they had learnt about this year. There were performances about the human body, evolution, World War II and various artistic styles. The children scripted everything themselves and it was just fabulous! A huge well done to them and their teachers for all the hard work that went into the assembly. A special thanks to Mr Beresford, who was the cause of many of the tears, due to a surprise video he created on the students time in primary. We are sad that the Year 6 students are shortly leaving the primary section but we all know they will continue to achieve their full potential as they move onto the next part of their educational journey.
Bomba Day
Thursday was Bomba Day! The students had lots of fun with the water hose and they also got to sit inside the fire engine.
Celebrating Success
A huge congratulations to Chaeeun in Year 6 who received First Place at a recent golf tournament ‘The 5th Annual SGA Junior Idol 2022’.

This week’s Trashless Class winners are: Year 6. Well done to them
