From the Head of Primary 11.09.2021

This week I had the pleasure of joining the PTA for their first meeting of the academic year. It was wonderful to meet all the new members. A huge thank you to them for the welcome hampers that our new staff received this week: Anna Gibbons in F2; Sharon Fulat in 3S; Edward Shaw in 5K and Mark Beresford in 6S. We are very happy to have these staff members in KK and I am sure you will all join me in wishing them well, while they settle into their new life here. I would also like to say a big thank you to Shelley Dyer who stepped up to be this year’s primary teacher representative on the PTA.

The work of the PTA is invaluable to the school and I look forward to working closely with them over the coming year.

Another Friday and another celebration assembly! As usual we celebrated birthdays and our Stars of the Week who went above and beyond to receive their certificates. We also held our very first ‘House Colour Day’ where all students came to the assembly dressed in their house colours and throughout the day completed house colour themed tasks. As well, we announced the much anticipated results of the Year 2 House Captains.

The successful candidates were:

A big well done to the Year 2 children who gave speeches last week. They were all very brave and super examples of what it means to be a leader!

Nominations are also under way for the Student Council. Children from each class are able to nominate themselves and their fellow classmates will vote for just one representative from each class. Student Council members will be announced in next week’s assembly.

As well, we are looking forward to soon finding out who our Eco Warriors, Charity Committee members and Library Cadets will be. In case you missed it, information about how to apply for these roles can be found on the School Story of Class Dojo.

Finally, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new students and their families who joined us this week:

Zoe Abbott (F2)

Bosco Lau (Y1K)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
