Offsite PE and Swimming Locations

In order to improve our communication to both parents and students, the PE Department will now publish each week details of locations for all activities occurring offsite in a given week. This will include both Primary and Secondary PE & Swimming lessons as well as any other additional sports fixtures or training sessions.

FOBISIA HoPE Conference

Last week I was fortunate to travel to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to attend the annual Heads of PE FOBISIA conference. 

This event included the AGM where items included evaluating the current framework for FOBISIA sports events and discussions about what is working well as well as feedback from the various events highlighting potential areas for improvement and further development. 

Another major focus of the HoPE Executive is the establishment of a Regional High Quality Collaboration group including schools throughout Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. The main aim of this group is to increase the ease and frequency of opportunities for ongoing professional development of staff in all schools. Being able to foster greater collaboration between member schools in sharing of good practice; identifying individual strengths and areas for potential growth or improvement within all of our schools and to support each other in creating the best possible learning and performance outcomes for our students in PE and sport.   

It was a highly valuable few days from which I certainly gained some new perspectives and ideas that I expect to be able to implement into our current practices to enrich the PE and Sport program for KIS students.
