Liga Superimau Season A

We had an overwhelmingly positive response from children registering to take part in the Liga Superimau Football League that will kick-off at the end of the month. 

We have 14 students from Years 3 and 4 signed up for the Under 10 Team and 18 students from Years 5 to 7 sign up to take part as part of the Under 12 Team. 

Sadly we did not have enough interest to run an Under 14 team this season, but we will certainly look to try and expand the number of teams going forward as we hope this will present students with an excellent opportunity to extend their participation in sports outside of school. 

For parents who registered their child for the Under 10 or Under 12 Teams, please keep an eye on your emails during, and after the Chinese New Year break, as we will be sending information relating to schedules and other important details that are due to be released on Monday 23rd January. 

We do not expect to accept any more registrations for Season A, but if your child did miss out this time and would like to take part in future Seasons, please make sure you are watching out for future communications via the newsletter and school emails. 

FOBISIA Updates

This week, our Primary FOBISIA Squad made up of students from Year 5 and Year 6 started their preparations for their competition in May. The students are being assisted by Mrs Clifford and Mr Shaw to develop their skills and knowledge in the sports of athletics, football and tee-ball. Another important aspect of their training and preparation will focus on promoting a positive attitude and team culture in order to build their capacity for resiliency. Being able to demonstrate sportsmanship and fair play is another vital objective in developing the full character of students on the competition field and something that we want all our Vipers to show when representing KIS. 

Some reminders for parents of Primary FOBISIA Students below:

Deadline for 2nd Payment of RM1500 is due on Friday 3rd February following the Chinese New Year break. Please make sure this payment is made by the due date as we will be using this money to purchase flights. 

We will also need all parents to sign and return the Covid-19 Safety for Overseas Trips Policy prior to booking your child’s flight. A copy of this has been given to your child, but if you did not receive it, copies can also be collected from the front office.   

U13 FOBISIA dates for your diaries – 

Tuesday 31st January – U13 FOBISIA Swimming training at Penampang Pool. Pick up by parents at Penampang Pool at 4:45pm. 

Saturday 4th February – U13 FOBISIA Athletics training at Likas Stadium 8:00-10:00am. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up their children at the stadium main entrance. 

Secondary Offsite Lessons Term 2

Double lessons offsite for all Key Stage 3 this term will be carried out at Borneo Sports Arena (BSA).
