From the Head of PE and Sport 20.08.2022
A very warm welcome back to all returning KIS families and a special hello to our many new families that have joined us this year!
This year promises to be a very exciting and highly ACTIVE year for students in PE and Sport across the school with so many wonderful opportunities and events for students and parents to get involved with!
PE lessons in both Primary and Secondary got underway this week with students enjoying a wide variety of activities. More on what students are up to in the coming weeks.
Primary parents should have seen the days of their child’s PE lessons shared in class timetables through Dojo, but here they are again for your reference.

On the days your child has PE, they should wear their PE uniform to school, which includes their coloured house shorts, white t-shirt, trainers and school hat.
Students in secondary will continue with the policy of wearing the PE uniform to school on the days they have PE. If they have a double lesson for PE lessons 3 & 4 then they will also need to bring their school uniform to change into after the class. Please see here the Secondary PE timetable for your reference.
Year 12 and Year 13 should wear their school uniform to school (unless they have PE lessons 1 or 2) and then change into their PE uniform in any break or free lesson they have.
The Secondary PE uniform consists of navy shorts, coloured house t-shirt, appropriate sports shoes (please no converse or vans) and a hat.
Unfortunately, at present, the uniform shop is limited in stock of larger sizes of navy shorts, and we are currently working on correcting this issue. In the interim, if your child is unable to purchase shorts that are suitable for them, we ask that parents find alternative navy shorts and notify your child’s PE teacher of the problem. We will notify parents when the new stock arrives and is available for purchase.
Offsite Secondary Lessons:
As part of the secondary PE unit Personal Challenge (Athletics and Fitness) some lessons will be carried out offsite at either Likas Athletics Stadium or Penampang Athletics stadium. As per normal, students will leave school at the start of lesson 3 and travel by bus accompanied by their PE teachers and return at the start of lunch.
Below you will find the schedule for offsite lessons.
If you are unsure of anything or have any questions regarding PE at KIS then please do not hesitate to make an appointment to come and speak to me or contact me by email cwatt@kis.edu.my
