U15 FOBISIA Games Update
We have had a phenomenally positive response to our “Expression of Interest” to take part in the U15 FOBISIA Games in Phuket in November next academic year with 30 students keen to be involved in this wonderful experience. I am already fielding many questions from students about events, travel and of course – “will we get to choose our own roommates?”
Whilst I cannot answer all of these questions at this time, I have notified FOBISIA of our intention to take part and I am now awaiting more details from them in regards to confirmation of other schools in our groups etc.
I will shortly be sending out a formal 1st letter to all parents of students in Years 8 and 9 with more information, as well as a request to pay an initial deposit to secure their child’s place in the team. This deposit will be the first of three payments to cover the costs of the trip and will be due at the beginning of June after the half term break.
Please note that in order to be eligible to take part in this event students need to be born on or after 1st August 2007. If a student’s age falls just outside of this it is possible for us to request an exemption for them to still take part if it is agreed upon by other participating schools.
Please look out for the letter in your email or from your child and as always if you have any questions about the FOBISIA Friendly Games please feel free to get in touch.
For younger students, please note that we also send teams to the U13 Friendly Games (typically for students in Years 7 and 8) and the Primary FOBISIA Games (typically for students in Years 5 and 6). More information about each of these events will be given out at the start of the 2022-23 Academic Year.
