Word of the Week 12.06.2021
Both the English Department and form tutors have been exceedingly impressed this week with our students’ ability to fight through their ‘clinomania’ and ‘malaise’ to offer us a veritable ‘tittynope’ of tasty word treats. We’ve had such a ‘sesquipedalian’ torrent of terms of unusual ‘parlance’ that ‘arbitration’ has been quite a ‘discombobulating’ process.
However, while all of this week’s tutor group entries stand on the ‘precipice’ of greatness, I do not wish to find myself ‘embroiled’ in a scandal. Therefore, this week’s winner is Tiggi Mornington-Sanford from 8S for her entry ‘susurrus’ which means whispering or rustling and was chosen for its soft sibilant sounds.
Congratulations to Tiggi who has earned five house points for Sulug and to all of our entrants this week, who have also earned points for their houses for their enterprise and originality.
