WELLBEING NEWS 18.06.2022

Hello and we meet again. I do hope everyone had a wonderful half term break. In less than 2 weeks now, we will all be having our well deserved summer holiday. Holidays are often thought to be an ideal time for spending more time with the family, catching up with friends and relatives, and the all time favourite ‘resting and relaxing’. In reality, oftentimes during the holidays we are too busy having fun, which may lead to being sleep deprived!. This is so true especially that we all now live in a 24-hour culture where mostly everything fun can be accessible 24/7 such as; online games, online shopping, Netflix, Youtube, Instagram (ashamedly, I have to admit that I too, am guilty binge-ing on ‘all the above’ platforms during my holidays). While it is perfectly okay to be off-course from your normal sleep schedule, once in a while, remember to also aim to get enough quality sleep time whenever possible. Therefore, In my newsletter today, I would  like to share information on the importance of quality sleep. Getting enough quality sleep is the building block to good health and wellbeing. Quality sleep helps improve our memory, sharpen our focus, and regulate our mood. Enabling us to fully enjoy the next day’s activities. These are not the only benefit of getting enough quality sleep, if you are interested to listen and learn more click the video from Harvard Medical School.
