PRIMARY HOUSE NEWS

HOUSEPOINT AWARD

The number of certificates we present and the range of year groups they are presented to is slowly growing and this week was no exception! We proudly presented Primary students from Year 1 to Year 4 with their Bronze Awards for earning 40 housepoints each! A wonderful achievement and we cannot wait to see what other awards we can present in the upcoming weeks!

 

Congratulations for Bronze Awards this week goes to:

Y4: Aidan, Gabriel, Nasuha, Zoe, Derek, Grace, Henderson, Maira and Roy

 

Congratulations to you all! We can’t wait to find out who we will celebrate in the weeks to come!

HOUSEPOINT TOTAL

Primary have continued to work hard and show the attributes we associate with our KIS students. Collectively, they earned an impressive 938 housepoints and I’m hopeful that next week we will smash the 1000 barrier! Keep up the fabulous work KIS and let’s see what housepoint totals we can achieve!

 

Year 3 clinched back their title of Weekly Class Housepoint Winners as they earned an impressive 6 housepoints per pupil! Well done Year 3. We are very proud of you all!

 

The housepoints awarded to our 3 Houses was:

 

In 3rd place with 311 housepoints is Sulug!

In 2nd place with 313 housepoints is Gaya!

In 1st place with 314 housepoints is Sapi!

 

Our congratulations go to Sapi Sunbears for another win in this second half term! I can’t wait to find out who we will be celebrating as Housepoint Champions as this term continues!!

DOJO CHALLENGE THIS WEEK!

KIS challenges were a sea of pink this week as everyone participating baked, drew, dressed, ate and drank everything pink coloured! Well done to everyone who has taken part in challenges so far and a special congratulations to Sapi Sunbears who clinched victory as our Dojo Challenge champions for the second week in a row!

Now it’s time to find out what challenges you can involve yourself in this week. 

 

The Monthly Maths Challenge is back with our November challenges! Make sure you check out the Drive folder to find a November Maths Challenge suitable for your year group. There are challenges for F1&F2, Y1&Y2, Y3&Y4 and Y5&Y6. Download the appropriate challenge sheets from Google Drive and get puzzling away to solve the various Maths Mystery challenges for this month! All submissions for the Maths Challenge are due by Friday 25th November 2022. Good luck everyone and get those maths brains crunching!

 

The Fun Challenge this week follows on from our successful Primary Global Goals Day on Thursday 3rd November. All of Primary took part in a variety of interesting and fascinating activities and presentations linked to the Global Goals. Check out more about the Global Goals by visiting: www.globalgoals.org.

For the Fun Challenge, look around you in Sabah and take a photo of somewhere you can see one of the Global Goals in action and being successfully achieved. This could be a photo of recycling, clean water or ocean pollution being solved. You may see where there is still a need to fix the problems the Global Goals target and you could take a photo showing the problems. These photos will be judged by our Primary Global Goals Team to select a winner from each House in KS1 and KS2 for our Life Thru a Lens competition. All photos to be submitted by Thursday 10th November 2022.

Ms. Lisa in our Marketing Department may use some of the wonderful challenge submissions each week to celebrate and share your wonderful work through videos created for the KIS newsletter and social media sites. Please use the link above, complete the required information in the Google Form and upload your photos.
