PRIMARY HOUSE NEWS

It wouldn’t feel like a proper Friday if we didn’t have the chance to present more Housepoint Awards during assembly. The Primary students didn’t disappoint this week and provided us the opportunity yet again to present more of our HP Awards to those students who have shown the KIS attributes and earned enough housepoints to claim their next certificate!
Congratulations for Bronze Awards this week go to:
F2: Ruda
Y2: Wesley
Congratulations for Silver Awards this week go to:
Y1: Amsyar and Misha
Y2: Camellia
Y3: Mira
Y6: Chaeeun
Congratulations to you all! We cannot wait to see who we celebrate next week! Well done!!

HOUSEPOINT TOTALS
It has felt like a very short week this week purely because it has gone by in the flash of an eye. However, it wasn’t too quick for our Primary Houses who continue to battle it out in the weekly housepoint race and have given us another close race this week!
Altogether, our three Primary Houses earned 492 housepoints collectively. Only two points separated the top 2 spots which led to another close battle for first. However, after careful counting and checking of all the results, we’re pleased to announce another new team on the top for this second term!
The housepoints awarded to each team was:
In 3rd place, with 158 housepoints is Gaya!
In 2nd place with 166 housepoints is Sulug!
In 1st place with 168 housepoints is Sapi!
Our congratulations go to Sapi Sunbears for claiming their first win in this second term!! Who will we be celebrating as Housepoint Champions next week?
GO GAYA PANGOLINS! GO SAPI SUNBEARS!! GO SULUG SHARKS!!!
DOJO CHALLENGE
Primary students participating in our latest Fun Dojo Challenge have been busy all week thinking about their New Year Resolutions. I was so impressed to see all the different resolutions our young students have set for themselves and just what they want to achieve throughout this year. I look forward to seeing all the successful resolutions that will be achieved as the year progresses! Good luck KIS keeping and working towards your resolutions!
There is one more week to complete the Monthly Maths Challenge for January! You can choose to complete the F1&F2, Year 1&2, Year 3&4 or Year 5&6 challenges! Good luck everyone taking on the maths challenge! All entries are due by Friday 28th January 2022
Life Thru a Lens returns for its third challenge, giving our KIS students opportunity to take a photo where red in the focus colour. As we will soon be celebrating Chinese New Year, red is an important colour within this celebration. KS1 and KS2 students can take a photo of red items to enter the competition. One winning photo from each House in each Key Stage will be chosen by our judges and the winning photos will be displayed on the walls of the Primary Office. All entries for the competition are due by Friday 28th January 2022.
Please share photos of your completed challenges through this Google Form link:

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible participating with these weekly challenges, but please do remember that all challenges are optional. All entries for all challenges will be awarded with housepoints towards their House Team total, because “Team work makes the dream work!”
Happy challenging KIS!
SECONDARY HOUSE NEWS
Secondary House News
SULUG continue to lead the way in the Secondary Merit point totals as we launch into Term 2 whilst SAPI press in second place leaving GAYA to languish a little in third as is shown in the table below:-

Students are able to “live” check their Merit totals through the House Google Site using their KIS domain login.
However, I thought this week parents may be interested to see how these scores “stack up”:-

The overall scores include results from Weekly House competitions and one-off events. The situation is very different here, as shown below:-

Parents can view the KIS House GSite through the following link which can only be accessed using a KIS domain email account (ask your child to show you):-
