PRIMARY HOUSE POINT AWARDS
I couldn’t think of a better way to end this second Term than with the announcement that 2 of our outstanding KIS Primary students have earned their Head Teacher HP Award for earning a massive 160 housepoints! All Primary students have worked extremely hard throughout this long term and faced the challenges it has brought with the attitudes we have come to know of all students! It was wonderful to be able to award the many certificates we presented this week and I am excited to see what Term 3 has in store for us and just what awards we will be presenting then!
Until that happens, I hope you all join me in congratulating the following 44 individuals for their hard work and achievements to earn the award they received this week!

HOUSEPOINT TOTALS
After a close race every week to find the weekly HP champions, the term had to end with another close race to find our final weekly champions for Term 2! And what a close race it was this week! Book Week fun made sure that all students in Primary had earned an impressive overall total of almost 2,000 housepoints but the winning team clinched victory by the smallest 1 point margin!
The housepoints awarded to each team this week was:
In 3rd place with 651 housepoints is Sulug!
In 2nd place with 654 housepoints is Sapi!
In 1st place with 655 housepoints is Gaya!
Congratulations to the Gaya Pangolins who end another term in 1st place for the weekly battles!
As we have reached the end of term 2, it was time to reveal the overall total number of housepoints earned by all Houses and it was exceptionally close!
Overall, since the beginning of this school year, our Houses have earned a massive 23,203 housepoints! What an impressive total and many congratulations to every Primary student who has helped us reach that total.
The winning House holds a 22 point lead over the Houses and everything remains close for the continuing battle in Term 3!
The overall House totals at the end of Term 2 are:
In 3rd place, with 7,725 housepoints is Gaya!
In 2nd place with 7,728 housepoints is Sapi!
In 1st place with 7,750 housepoints is Sulug!
Congratulations to Sulug Sharks who remain our top House at the end of Term 2! I wish you all a wonderful and happy, restful break and look forward to seeing you return for the final battle in Term 3. Who will we crown as the Housepoint Champions this year?
DOJO CHALLENGE
Well done to all students who participated in the Earth Hour challenge, switched off their lights and showed their support of our planet. It was fun to see students enjoying crafts by candlelight, bike rides by torchlight, den building fun, instrument playing and even early bedtimes! Well done to Sapi Sunbears who secured yet another win in the Weekly Challenges!
Our April Maths Challenge returns this week with Easter themed games, problem solving and Maths Mysteries for you to solve. Choose the challenge suitable for your year group and complete it. All Monthly Maths challenges are due by Friday 29th April 2022.
All of Primary has loved celebrating Book Week this week in school and our latest Fun Challenge helps to share our love of books as we enjoy the holiday too. Our student councillors and library cadets joined up with the House Captains this week to help us launch the next challenge, creating this video together to share all the details. To take part in this book themed fun challenge, choose a story you love and create a diorama (a 3D scene showing the setting, an event and the characters from your chosen story) using an old box and recyclable materials. Winners of this challenge will each earn 20 housepoints for their House team! All entries in the Book Diorama challenge should be submitted by Friday 22nd April 2022.

SECONDARY HOUSE NEWS
House Sports competitions
Over the last three weeks the PE Dept have been running house competitions for Badminton and Volleyball in Key Stage 3. Due to the success of these some opportunities were also created for classes in older year groups depending on the time and space available. These have been very well received by the students and it has been excellent to see the students get stuck into some friendly competition. The results of these are:-
NBA 2Ball Basketball League
The NBA 2Ball League has concluded for Term 2.
The placings below will be scored and added to the house totals. These will then be “archived” into the HALL OF FAME. A new league table will re-start in Term 3 for players to try to get in the top places.

Physical Challenge – Footcatch
This challenge involved lying on your back with your feet off the floor and a ball in your hands. The ball was then thrown into the air a caught with your feet (no shins). Those that managed to successfully complete the task were:-
SULUG continue to lead the way in the Secondary Merit point totals this term whilst SAPI are pressing hard in second place:-
Students are able to “live” check their Merit totals through the House Google Site and their KIS domain login.
However, I thought this week parents may be interested to see how these scores “stack up”. Firstly, individual scores organised by tutor group are shown below:-
Next, we can view the total number of merits achieved by each Tutor group:-
Year 13’s are leading by example with a very big hall of merits but are being pursued by Year 7S with their own creditable class total of 1400!
