From the PTASC 23.05.2020

As you know we are nearing the PTA AGM.  It’s that time of the year where you, as a PTA member, have the opportunity to elect members for the new PTA Steering Committee.  In case you haven’t pencilled it in, the AGM will be on the 4th of June at 9.00 over Zoom (details to follow shortly).

KIS is looking for volunteers to be members of the next Steering Committee (2020-2021).  Although we are all members of the PTA, being part of the PTASC is very satisfying and rewarding.   For example, it gives you the opportunity to provide direct input on important matters such as hiring key personnel within KIS or in being involved with the CIS evaluation and all without being part of the Board of Governors! Any funds raised by your committee will be used on what the PTASC, along with the school’s management team feedback, decide is a priority. More importantly, the PTASC ensures that KIS keeps a strong feeling of community; a place where all of us feel welcome and respected regardless of our nationalities or ideologies.

The PTASC also provides our children with opportunities to celebrate our cultural diversity; the smiles on their faces when they receive “cookies from Santa”, or see the Lion Dance acrobatics are priceless! You will make good friends; friends who you may not have previously crossed paths with in school and also to better understand how the school operates. If you think you can volunteer any amount of time to the PTA, please consider joining. All of our KIS community will be very grateful.
